Welcome to the memorial page for

Marianne Miller

May 14, 1921 ~ October 25, 2017 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Marianne was a devoted wife who embraced her role as a military wife for 31 years.  She lived every moment of her life knowing her purpose on earth was to be a loving wife and mother.  Being a devoted wife and loving mom came natural to her; she embraced these roles with every fiber of her being.  She fulfilled this most noble of life’s endeavors with poise, grace, and selflessness. She welcomed friends and strangers alike with a warm and unique sense of family and love.  She lived her life setting a wonderful example for others to follow.  Her lovely face, radiant smile, and sparkling eyes touched many lives.  Her warmth, kindness, and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten.  She leaves an unfillable void in many peoples’ lives.  We will miss her dearly. Marianne was born on May 14, 1921 and grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  She was very close to her twin brother, Johnny, who died in a boating accident at the age of sixteen. Marianne met Dave while ice-skating on Lake Glen Ellyn, and they were married in 1941 at Randolph Field Chapel in Texas.  They shared many exciting years in the Air Force and fostered lasting, cherished friendships.  Over the years, they traveled to many interesting locations around the world. Marianne is survived by her daughters Nancy and Ginger, their spouses; Larry Collins and Joe DeNigro, four grandchildren: Kelley, Sara, Kimberly, and Mindy, as well as five great-grandchildren; Lucinda, Gwenyth, Jacob, Koa, and Lochlan. We love you Mom.  You gave us the most precious thing of all, love.  You will live forever in our hearts and future generations. Interment will be held in the Otto/David Miller lot of Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  A graveside burial will be on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glen Ellyn Historical Society at www.glenellynhistory.org.
