From Our Humble Beginnings

Founded in 1922 by Elmer "Pete" Leonard in a store front on Pennsylvania Ave, The Leonard Memorial Home has enjoyed six locations over the years, concluding with our current location since 1962.

Pete never got to see the "new" place, as the building was in its design phase when he passed in December of 1958.

His legacy continued with great regard by his two sons, Fred and Ron Leonard. In 2008 they passed the business along to the Sourek family. The Sourek's own two other funeral homes - Sourek Manor in Cicero 5645 W. 35th St. and Sourek in Chicago 3756 S. Paulina. Combining over 100 years of experience the Leonard Memorial Home will continue to be the most prominent and dignified funeral home in the area.
