Robert Jackson Obituary

Robert Raymond Jackson, 69, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on July 30th. He passed away in his home due to health complications.

Robert was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Valparaiso University where he studied marketing and was a member of the Football team and flautist in school band. During his college years he served in the Vietnam War. For his service in the Air Force, he earned a purple heart among other commendations before returning to school. After graduating with a degree in Marketing, he went on to earn his MBA and become a successful Database Marketer and published author. His career in Marketing took him from his hometown of Indianapolis to Denver, San Francisco, and ultimately Chicago, where he met his ex-wife Ruth and started a family with their two boys Robert and Ben. He was a dedicated and loving Father who loved to share his passions, talents, and creativity with his family and friends.

Robert was known for his love of the outdoors, music, cooking, books, and travel. He never missed one of Robert or Ben’s sports events, or a chance to go fly-fishing and hunting with the Dads from Carolyn and Muirwood Dr. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.

A Memorial Service will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 5th, 2021, at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gary Sinise Foundation for Veterans.
