Marie Joan (Tierney) Croft

Beloved wife of Robert Joseph Croft. Loving mother of Mary, William (Rona), Robert (Mary), John, Kathryn, and Timothy. Dear grandmother of Courtney, Theresa, and Catherine. Devoted daughter of Agnes (Shea) and John Tierney. Fond sister of late Jack (Patricia O’Neill), Late Margaret (Robert Michaels), Therese (James Brennan), Agnes (James Prindiville), Late Paul (Mary Dewsberry), and Edward (Jeanne Metz). Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

After attending Trinity and Rosary in River Forest, Marie met and married her husband and dearest friend, Robert (Bob) Croft, from the West side of Chicago. They lived there for several years before moving back to Glen Ellyn where her parents and two sisters were living. Marie provided a loving home for her family and friends and was known for her hospitality. You were certainly offered food and/or drink many times before you could leave. She enjoyed puttering in her garden, bike riding, reading and traveling. Marie was exceptionally well versed and passionate about politics and never hesitated to offer her opinion. Once her children were grown, Marie worked as a substitute teacher for various schools in the local school district. She next worked at the College of DuPage where Bob was an instructor. Marie retired from the Continuing Education Department when she was 82. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

There will be a meet and greet on Saturday, September 17th, 2022  at 10AM until time of Mass at 11 AM at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
