Keith C Wittenberg

April 4, 1959 ~ June 2, 2022 (age 63)

Memorial Visitation Wednesday, July 13, 4pm to 8pm.

Keith Wittenberg was a wonderful, sensitive and loving son, a warmhearted and caring brother, a great uncle, and a compassionate and giving friend.  Keith had a heart of gold and was a kind and gentle person.  Although a very shy and private person, once he got to know you, he would talk up a storm and not stop until someone turned off the lights.

Keith was liked by everyone around him.  He showed great respect for others, and he treated everyone with kindness.  He would be the first person to lend you a helping hand if you were down in the dumps, had experienced tough times, or were just struggling with life.  When he was in a group of people, he would always find a way to make you smile or put a little laughter in your heart.  Sometimes he did not even realize what he had said, but it made you happy and laugh at the same time.

Keith was a dog lover and took very good care of his Shelties.  They were the pride and joy of his every day, and he treated them with love and affection, just like they were his children.  No matter where Keith went, dogs sensed he was a good person, and they would follow him, lay in his lap, or curl up next to him just to be near his side.

Keith loved to travel, and not only took a once in a lifetime photographic safari to Kenya and Tanzania in Africa, but also traveled several times to Europe.

Keith had a tough life since his strokes 9 years ago, and despite the considerable setbacks and all the pain and challenges he faced, he never gave up, and he kept pushing himself to live life another day. His sister-in-law, Barbara Wittenberg, did everything possible to help Keith through his most difficult times, and she never gave up until God said it was time.

Keith is survived by his mother (Jeanette Wittenberg), his father (Kenneth Wittenberg), his brother (Kenneth Wittenberg), his sister-in-law (Barbara Wittenberg), his sister-in-law (Mary Barbara Wittenberg), his nephews Kenneth Wittenberg, Michael Wittenberg, Corey Wittenberg, Mathew Wittenberg, Anthony Wittenberg, and Michael Wittenberg, his nieces Jennifer Wittenberg, Monique Balgowan, Stephanie Walsh, Felicity Wittenberg, and Therese Wittenberg.  He was preceded in death by his brother (Corey Wittenberg), and his loved Sheltie dogs Shadow and Cody.

There will be a funeral service in Northern Indiana – details to follow in the near future.
