John M Driscoll

John Driscoll of Wheaton passed away July 28, 2020. Beloved husband of Kathleen (McKane) Driscoll. Loving Father of Christopher John (Erica) Driscoll of Sunbury, Pennsylvania;  Amanda (Andrew) Ann Satunas of Homer Glen; Fond brother of Edward (Janet) Driscoll of Carol Stream; and Betty Driscoll Franks of Toledo Ohio. Dear Grandfather of Zoey, Mia and Jarod Driscoll; and Andrew, Abigail and Joey Satunas.

Today, in the early hours of the morning, my dad passed away. Dad fought lung cancer off and on for a few years. Hospice made sure that Dad was free from any pain as he passed away holding onto Mom's hand. They celebrated 50 years of marriage this June. How he put up with me for 40 of those years, I have no idea. Somehow he managed to put up with my brother Chris, even longer. Dad studied to be a priest, met my mom, joined the Army, and worked in banking. He sang in the church choir for over 50 years; was active in the Boy Scouts of America on the unit, district and council levels. He was a man of faith...quiet and conservative but always observant, listening and leading by example. Dad always put God and his family first. He took good care of all of us. He was our #1 fan in the stands..always with the quiet and reserved "See the Ball, 4" at all my games. Drew's fondest memories of Grandpa were when he'd watch his baseball games. Dad was always talking to the TV during Chicago sports games...."get your two, boys....."Way to go dummy!" The man was meticulous in his landscaping....we often joked that Dad would take the lawnmower for walks instead of the dog. he showed us how to take care of Mom, always bringing her flowers every week. We will miss him. Funeral will be at St Petronille Church, the place where my parents grew  up and were married.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations to be made to St. Petronille Catholic Church.

Visitation Monday, Aug 3, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn.  Funeral Mass to follow,11:00 AM at St. Petronille Catholic Church, Glen Ellyn.  Interment Private.
