Harold Fritz

Harold “Harry” W. Fritz, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 11th at the Anthology of
Grayslake senior living facility. Harry was a long-time resident of Glen Ellyn and later Winfield.
He grew up in the Chicago area and met his bride, Betty “Joanne” Fritz, at the University of
Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and subsequently became a
Certified Public Accountant. Harry served our country in the US Army during WWII and later in
the Airforce Reserve.
Harry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty (Joanne) Fritz, brother Rudy Fritz, and
parents Andrew and Suzanne Fritz. Harold is survived by his loving children Bill (Krystyna), Mike
(Vivien) and Carol (Terry Bloom) Fritz, and dear grandchildren Bryana, Alysa, and Kayla (Derek
Blidy).
Harry worked as an accountant most of his professional career. He was a devoted, loving
husband who was always there for his wife, especially till the very end, as she faced her
toughest battle with cancer. He was a wonderful father always ready to support his children
whether in school, sports, or life. Harry loved his grandchildren immensely and they gave him
great joy throughout his life. Harry may be best remembered as a caring, fun, humorous, and
humble soul. He had a way of leaving those he met feeling better than before. And he was
always positive and grateful.
Harry will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but he has left us all with so many
wonderful memories.

During the visitation on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Leonard Memorial
Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn, there will be a short Memorial service around 3 p.m. which
will also be available via livestream at https://www.facebook.com/pg/LEONARDMEMORIALHOME/videos/ 

Family will have an informal gathering at Lake Ellyn near
the boathouse (645 Lenox Road) following the service. Feel free to stop by with a folding chair.
In lieu of flowers, family would prefer a donation to a charity of your choice in Harry’s memory.
