Bruce Richardson

Bruce Stewart Richardson, beloved husband of Carol Richardson. Loving father of Mandy Kiburg and Josh. Wonderful grandpa to Aidan, Evelyn, and Nora. Brother to Jon and David. 

Bruce was an excellent provider, supporting husband, tolerant father, devoted grandfather.  Gainfully employed all his adult life, his passion was art…any kind of art…painting, writing, acting, but especially design.  He loved the theater. In his younger years, he designed fascinating sets for his college and community theaters. Bruce even co-wrote and designed the set for the first “rock opera” his small college in Boise, Idaho had ever experienced!  

Later in life, his passion turned to photography.  He spent hours wandering forests, deserts, and city streets, trying to find that perfect “shot”. 

As the world moved on…so did he. He took his love of design to the internet and spent the last few years designing wonderful websites.

Bruce loved science fiction and taught his children to love science fiction. So much so they pursued science in life.  He loved to learn. He learned how to shear a sheep. He learned how to sail a 20-foot boat. He was learning how to write movie scripts. He learned the right way to build Legos from his grandson. He learned how to bake, a passion he shared with his granddaughter.  We will miss his Christmas cookies. 

He lived life as he wanted.  He loved life.  He loved his family.  We will miss him.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 18th from 4 pm to 7 pm at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. More information at leonardmemorialhome.com or (630) 469-0032.
