William Lindstrom Obituary

William Lindstrom passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023.  Born in Lawrence, Kansas and a proud graduate of the University of Kansas, Bill earned degrees in chemical engineering and mathematics and was elected to Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society.  Bill dedicated 30 years of his professional life to IBM, where his journey spanned various roles.

A family man at heart, Bill cherished time spent with his beloved wife of 67 years, Julie, their children, and grandchildren. He was a source of wisdom and guidance to his four children, fostering strong familial bonds that endure. Bill's interests were diverse, ranging from his love for big band jazz to his fascination with literary classics by Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. His passion for early American history led to his active involvement in Colonial Williamsburg and membership in the Raleigh Tavern Society.

He served as Chairman of the Governing Board at Flossmoor Community Church and contributed to its various committees over the span of sixty years.

Bill's warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the memories he created.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife Julie, children Helen L. Clark (David), Lowell J Lindstrom (Jennifer), and William M. Lindstrom, Jr., grandchildren Meaghan and David Clark, Will, Andrew, and Carter Lindstrom, as well as brothers Dick Lindstrom (Susie) and Jim Lindstrom (Barb deceased). He was preceded in death by his son David G. Lindstrom.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support, kind words, and condolences during this difficult time. While the internment ceremony will be private, the outpouring of love from friends, family, and well-wishers is deeply appreciated and serves as a testament to the impact Bill had on countless lives.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the two foundations that were close to his heart:
