William (Bill) R. Duchon, 88, of Glen Ellyn, passed away March 4, 2017.  Survived by his children: Mary Anne Anderson (Doug), Patty McGrath (Tom) and Peg Smith (Brian); his grandchildren, Katie, Annie, Boomer, Mike, Kelly, Bill & Kevin and one great-granddaughter, Molly.  He is preceeded in death by his wife, Peggy, his parents, Method & Anna (Vlcek), his brothers Frank & Matt and his sister Martha. Bill "Coach Duchon" was well known as a successful varsity football coach / head coach at Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn from 1959-1976. There he also taught and held  the Athletic Director position until retirement in 1988. Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, from 4 - 8 PM at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St, Glen Ellyn (630-469-0032 or www.leonardmemorialhome.com). Funeral mass Monday, 10am at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave, Glen Ellyn. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn, IL.
