Victoria Hansel Obituary

Victoria (nee Julian) Hansel of Glen Ellyn and Miramar Lakes Florida was born into eternal life Wednesday December 13th. Beloved wife of David. Loving mother to Celeste (James) Durkin, Joanne (Jon) Smith, Julie (Thomas) Arnieri and Gregory (Anuradha) Fisher. Adoring grandmother, (Kiki), to Adrienne (Matt Sloan), Madeline (Michael Bucaria), Emma (Owen Fuller) and Caroline Durkin; Thomas (Aly) Arnieri, Matthew, Emily and Anthony Arnieri; Connor, Paige and Ryan Smith; Rajan, Pallavi, Malini and Priya Fisher. Great grandmother to Francis, Lane and Joseph Sloan, Lucy and Kennedy Fuller. Dear sister to four and loving aunt of many. Her greatest joy as a grandmother were trips to the American Girl Doll Store and shelling and hunting for sharks teeth on the beaches of Amelia Island. An avid golfer, she adored her afternoons on the fairways with her grandsons. She treasured her time spent teaching the grandchildren to ski in Lake Tahoe … teaching them to sew and crochet in her kitchen and how to garden in her Glen Ellyn back yard. Victoria looked forward movie and dinner nights with dear friends and neighbors and Friday golf dates with the love of her life, David. Amelia Island, where they married thirty-four years ago will always hold a special place in their hearts.

A brave survivor of child abuse, Victoria was saved by the Catholic Church who was responsible for her college education at Quincy, a Franciscan University. From there she excelled beyond her wildest imaginations. As a mother of four, Victoria became the founder, CEO and President of Corporate Concepts Incorporated, a business she started on her dining room table in 1983. Her professional successes were repeatedly recognized by Craine Chicago Business in their annual Top Women Owned Business issue. A distinction that made her husband and children inordinately proud. The professional successes of which she was most proud were The United AirlinesTerminal at O’Hare, Boeing and the sentimental favorite, The Elmhurst Public Library.

She was devoted not only to supporting women in business but was passionate about her seat on the board at DIFFA Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.

You can preserve Victoria’s legacy by donating to Prevent Child Abuse of Illinois, a cause very near and dear to her heart, online at or by mail (to: 528 South 5th Street, Suite 211, Springfield, IL 62701).

A private funeral mass for the immediate family will be held.
