Tim O'Neal

Timothy Lee O’Neal, age 70, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, passed on to his heavenly home on October 1, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Ginny Corcoran O’Neal, his son Andrew O’Neal (Jill), stepchildren Kate Temple (Wayne) and T.J. Corcoran (Haley), and brother Michael O’Neal (Linda). Beloved by his seven grandchildren, Cole, Tyler, Mason, R.J., Murphy, Alaina, and Jackson, as well as by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and big extended family.

Tim was born in Herrin, Illinois, on February 10, 1953, to Don and Elda (Berra) O’Neal. He was a proud alum of Herrin High School and Southern Illinois University. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn since 1985 and emeritus board member and leader of the Northern Illinois Emmaus community, giving of his time and talents generously. He was known for his beautiful tenor voice, a talent that he shared at church and Emmaus, with his family and friends, and whenever anyone requested him to sing an Elvis song. He worked as a salesman in the corrugated box industry for over 30 years making many friends and acquaintances along the way, but his favorite job was working alongside his dear friends at two local men’s clothing stores, Herbert’s and Louis for Men. He loved sports, especially golf, and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Tim felt blessed by his faith and his loving family and friends.

Memorial gathering to be held at Leonard’s Funeral Home, 565 Duane St, Glen Ellyn, IL on Friday, October 20th from 4pm to 8pm. Celebration of Life service to be held at First United Methodist Church, 424 Forest Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL on October 21st at 10am.
