Susan E. Edwards

Susan E. Edwards, nee: Hesterman, “Susie”, 80, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022, with her adored husband, Richard, by her side. Susie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leroy “Lee” and Harriet Hesterman, her parents in law, Steven and Mary Edwards, her brother in law, Robert Edwards, and her niece, Muffy (Steve) Chrysler.

Susie was a lifelong resident of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. It was in Glen Ellyn that she met and married Richie, her husband of 59 years. She had a passion for antiques, collecting, decorating, and this passion was evident the minute a person stepped into one of her beautiful homes that she created and shared with Rich.

In life, Susie was extremely special. She was the spark that lit up a room the moment she walked into it. Her sense of fun, her infectious smile, and twinkling eyes radiated and the world was a brighter place with her in it. As one of her grandnieces recently shared “her heart was filled with so much love and joy” and she “always spoke her mind and knew how to make you feel special.” That was the magic of Susie. Her generosity of spirit was felt by all who knew her.

Along with her husband Richie, Susie is survived by “The Edwards Family”- her sister in-law Jeanne (Lancaster) Edwards, Robert “Bobby” (Jennifer) Edwards, Lucy (James ‘Bird’) Hogan, Nancy Edwards, Steven Edwards. In addition to being a treasured Aunt she was an amazing Great Aunt to many grandnieces and grandnephews, a loving cousin to Kim (Lane) Reed, and a lifelong friend of many. She will be dearly missed.

Memorial service and interment will be private.
