Steven Madsen Obituary

Steven Harold Madsen, one of the best men you will ever have had the pleasure of knowing, was tragically taken from us on May 24th, 2022. He was 59.

Steve lived his life to the fullest. He lived his life being a great father, grandfather and friend. He always had a knack for making friends and he has many who he loved whole heartedly. He was the kind of person that people remembered meeting. He was a great friend to many, always excited to make new memories and reminisce about the old. Taking no time together for granted.

He was an accomplished concrete finisher for Local 502 and took great pride in his work. No job was too big or too small and he always provided his perfectionist touch, whether on the job or helping a friend or family member.
Steve was also an avid thrill seeker through out his life. Fear was definitely not his middle name when it came to dirt bikes, snow mobiles or quads. He had a love for guns, attending the turkey and ham shoots in Carol Stream for well over 40 years. Always coming out a winner.
His love for NASCAR was second to none. His goal was to attend a race at every NASCAR track and he did have a great start.
But…his all-time favorite hobby was BBQ and Smoking meats. Always ready to feed a crowd if needed.

Above all, Steve loved his family more than anything else in this world. He was incredibly proud of his children and made sure they knew it.
He is survived by his wife Lyndie S. Madsen and his children Steven T. Madsen (Jeanette) and Haley L. Madsen, Mother-in-law Nancy Armstrong (Ralph), Father-in-law John North (Susan), sister-in-laws Laura Schmidt, Leanne Fink (Peter). Loving grandfather to Isabella E. and Steven M. Madsen and great-uncle to Riley Madsen.
Dedicated brother to Curt Madsen (Cindy), Kevin Madsen (Michelle).
He also leaves behind his very dear friend, Andrea Perry, along with many nieces and nephews:
Zachary M. Madsen, Jamie L. Madsen, Jonathan Schmidt (Erica), Josh Schmidt (Amanda),Jessica Jurmann (Chris) and Jake Fink (Bailey).

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold H. Madsen and Marjorie E. Madsen (Trottier), his brother Kyle P. Madsen, nephews Alec J. Madsen, Josh R. Madsen and Brother-in-law Carl Schmidt.
