Siu Hing Won

Siu Hing Won passed away on June 12, 2024 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Quong Lee Won and loving mother of Jeanne (Fred) Yuen, Danny Won, Harvey (Wendy) Won, and Stanley Won. Dear grandmother of Jonathan (Catherine Chen) Yuen, Samantha (Jeffrey Merrill) Yuen, Jeffrey (Patricia Li) Yuen, Nicholas Won, and Jamie (Christopher Brown) Won. Adoring great-grandmother of Julia Yuen and Joseph Yuen. Fond sister of the late Shu Moy Chin, the late Moo Lai Leong, and Tong Lai Leung. And was the aunt of many nieces & nephews.

She grew up and married in China, and then spent the next seventy years in the United States. She lived in Madison, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois before moving to Glen Ellyn, Illinois where she remained for sixty years. She and her husband owned a popular restaurant where they, for thirty years, worked extraordinarily long hours. Raising their children, though, was always their highest priority. After retirement, she finally had a chance to relax. It was then that she became a United States citizen, an accomplishment that she cherished with quiet pride. She continued to be a Chicago Bulls fan who knew the names of all the players and treasured her Michael Jordan jersey. Above all, she so enjoyed having more time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grateful family will miss her dearly. Without a word, she taught them everything about working hard and loving family.

Visitation 9 AM - 11 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Funeral Service at 11 AM on Saturday, July 6 at Leonard Memorial Home.
