Rosemary White passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
A gracious and gentle woman, Rosemary was born in 1929 in Oak Park, IL and grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL. She attended St. Petronille School in Glen Ellyn and Trinity High School in River Forest, IL and graduated from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, IN. Her career as a respected dietary clinician at the Mayo Clinic’s St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN spanned almost forty years, during which time she served as president and chair of several professional organizations. After retiring in 1991 to Glen Ellyn, she got her driver’s license and began working as the secretary-receptionist at St. Petronille’s parish rectory and served as president of Catholic Daughters, in both of which roles her mother served many years ago. A woman of great faith, she volunteered regularly, prayed with the rosary group, and attended church daily. Her radiance and beautiful “Irish eyes” were always smiling as she greeted everyone. Rosemary’s life was devoted to others. Peacefully she joins her parents, Mary (nee O’Brien) and William F. White, her loving brother, William F. White, Jr., dear friend and sister-in-law, Margaret Joan White(nee Vigard) and her great-grandniece, Theresa (Reese) Carlson, in heaven. She is survived by her family of nieces and nephews who were her everything throughout her life. William F. White III and Mary (Ree, nee Donnelly), Kathleen White Wessling and John Wessling, Thomas M. and Margie (nee Petersen) White, and, Kevin P. White and Raul Barreneche, and Mary White Hummell and Steve Evans. Grand nieces and nephews are Maggie White, Bill White, Bridget White Carlson, Courtney Wessling Schramm, Brooke Wessling, Colleen White, Patrick White, Kelly Hummell, Tommy Hummell, and Katie Hummell along with her great grand nieces and nephews, Sophia and Max White and Will and Jo Carlson, whom she loved spending time with and adored. Rosemary’s life was the greatest example of how to love, cherish, and appreciate the importance of strong faith.
