Ronald Elmer Heithoff, 90, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Thursday, June 11, 2026, following a brief illness. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness in everyone whose lives he touched. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Joanne and son Stephen.
His memory will be cherished by his three surviving children, Mary (Robert) Clauss of Glen Ellyn, IL, Karen (Daniel) Love of San Diego, CA, and Douglas of Santa Barbara, CA, surviving daughter-in-law Christine Heithoff, as well as seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was born in Omaha, NE on May 21, 1936, the only child of Henry and Constance Heithoff. He graduated from Creighton Preparatory School and Marquette University, where he met his wife. After college, Ronald spent three years in the Navy and was stationed off Puget Sound, WA.
He retired in 1996 as a Vice President and Trust Investment Officer at U.S. Bank in Chicago.
Ronald led an active lifestyle up to his death, which included daily exercise, playing cards, and enjoying the company of his family.
