Robert C. Wohlfarth passed away peacefully on September 24th. Loving husband of Lynn J. Wohlfarth, devoted father of Scott and Kimberly, adored son of Caroll G. and Lillian F. Wohlfarth, dear brother of Marcia Clark. Fond uncle of Breck, Julie,  Philip, Emily, Alicia, Beth and Matthew. Robert grew up in Chicago and later moved to Hinsdale, IL and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School. Always interested in electronics, Robert later graduated from DeVry Technical Institute. Robert served in the Army and was issued an FCC license to allow his work on radio transmitters. He worked at Packard Instruments, Philips Electronics, Village of Glen Ellyn, and owned and operated Hydrotronics. He enjoyed model and full-scale trains, everything about electronics, photography and computer arts including creating greeting cards.

Robert and Lynn were married in 1967 and moved to Glen Ellyn shortly thereafter. Following his positions at Packard and Philips, Robert worked for the Village of Glen Ellyn and made significant contributions in the field of electrical and electronic controls to the water and wastewater departments. He oversaw the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of a natural gas co-generation plant, providing continuous power and utility cost reduction. Robert was awarded 'Project of the Year 1992 / 1993' for his contribution as the project manager. Robert was a member of the Instrument Society of America and the Central States Water Pollution Control Association.

Robert later started his own business, providing electrical controls for water chilling systems. Robert also provided various electrical services for the Village of Cherry Valley. In his free time, Robert enjoyed fishing with his cousin John and playing with his granddog Oakley, who never tires of her willingness and ability to entertain.
