Robert James Hyde age 86 of Glen Ellyn.

Beloved husband of Laura Lee Hyde nee: Scharringhausen. Dear brother of the late John Hyde, brother-in-law of Fred (Joyce) Scharringhausen, Barbara (Stuart Hawbaker), Kevin (Kris) Scharringhausen, Jack (Kristain) Scharringhausen and Tom (Holly) Scharringhausen. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Robert taught American History in Elmhurst School District 205 at Washington Grade School for 2 years, Sandberg Junior High School for 2 years and York High School for 33 years. He also taught in Elmhurst College in the evenings for 4 years.

He loved to travel with his wife in the 1990’s after his retirement from York High School. They visited eastern and western Europe, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Italy, Holland, Russia, China, Turkey & Hong Kong.

Visitation Saturday, June 18, 9AM - 11AM at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn, 60137. 

Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Interment, Chapel Hill Garden West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace.
