Robert Tuscher Obituary

Robert "Bob" Tuscher, a lifelong resident of the Chicago area, has gone to heaven to be with the angels.

He was a loving brother to his siblings and their spouses. He was a wonderful, adoring and loving uncle to his four nephews, their spouses and seven great-nieces and nephews. He was also affectionately called “Uncle Bob” by many outside of his family.

Bob was renowned for his passion to make his loved ones and friends feel special by sending thoughtful greeting cards (glitter and all) for many holidays, giving the most creative gifts, and recognizing the anniversaries of milestones. He was generous on so many levels.

Professionally, he was a communications specialist for over 30 years. He built the telecommunications system for the City of Chicago, including the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Fire Department, O’Hare and Midway Airports. One coworker called him a technical genius! Both personally and professionally, Bob brought people together.

Bob was an accomplished singer. He proudly sang in the Windy City Gay Chorus for many years and performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. This also helped fuel his love for traveling the world. Some of his favorite trips included Egypt, South Africa, Australia, Scotland, and England.

He also loved dogs! He never met a dog who didn’t instantly love him.

Bob will be missed by many, both human and canine, for his kind and gentle spirit, his unconditional love, and his unfailing humor.

In lieu of flowers please give generously to one of the causes that were close to his heart, the Windy City Performing Arts and  PAWS Chicago Animal Rescue, or one of your choosing. If you’re not inclined to donate, know that Bob, would want you to be kind to one another, and perform random acts of kindness on his behalf. Because that’s who he was!

Visitation for Bob will be on Saturday, February 24th from 9 AM until the time of Bob's Celebration of Life (11 AM) at Leonard Funeral Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn, IL. Burial will follow at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
