Richard W. Lindner, 80, of Wheaton and formerly of Glen Ellyn, passed away on May 2, 2024. He was born on September 11, 1943, in Chicago, IL. He joined his parents, Walter and Henrietta (Beyer), and his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Lascaro, in heaven. He left behind his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Lepo), a son, Kurt Richard, a daughter, Amy Kathleen (Michael Failing), and a niece, Cheryl Lascaro. Several cousins and friends completed his family circle.
Rich was a family man and, as a family, took many camping vacations at state and national parks across the country. He followed his children's sports events with enthusiasm.
Rich had retired from a long career of teaching and took several part-time jobs to “fill his time.” Once he discovered the joy of retirement, he embraced it completely. He took many bike excursions and enjoyed going to the dog park to meet many friends. He was often seen riding around the neighborhood with the dog - although it was thought that much of his time was spent not biking but talking to neighbors.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, May 31 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church at 303 E Cole Ave, Wheaton, IL. A visitation will precede the Mass at the church beginning at 10:00 am. The burial in Assumption Cemetery will be private.
