Pauline (Bara) Sypal

Pauline A. Sypal (Bara) of Glen Ellyn, IL, left this world on April 14, 2021 at the age of 94 having lived a long and wonderful life.  She grew up on a farm in upper Michigan before moving to Chicago where she started her own beauty shop in Elmwood Park and found her lifetime partner, Ken, to whom she was married for 63 years.   

Pauline was a caring and passionate wife, grandmother, sister and friend.  She loved her life as a homemaker and beautician.  Her passion was her family.  She enjoyed spending hours in the kitchen with her grandchildren teaching them how to cook and cross-stitching them heirlooms.  She was a devoted Catholic and member of the Catholic Daughters.

Pauline is survived by her husband, Ken, children Michele (Terry) Shaughnessy and Ken (Jennifer) Sypal along with 8 grandchildren, Zak & Caitlin Shaughnessy and Elizabeth, Joseph, Clare, Rose, Luke, and Anna Sypal who will all miss her smile, laugh and hugs.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 23, 2021, from 9am -11am at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL with Mass to follow at 11:30 am at St. Petronille Church 420 Glenwood Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL.
