Patrick S. O'Flynn

Patrick S. O’Flynn, age 85, a 35 year resident of Glen Ellyn, IL. passed away on February 26th, 2020. Devoted husband of Elizabeth. Loving father of Rhona (Michael) Hoelsken, Stephen (Vanessa) & Lauren (Isaac) Redig. Beloved "Papa" of Conor, Andreas & Grace Hoelsken and Miaya, Ty & Sagely O’Flynn. Proud brother of Margaret (Sean) Ward, Dolores (Pat) Cleary & the late Pierce O’Flynn. Uncle of many nieces & nephews. Patrick first traveled to Canada from Ireland at age 22, where he married his beloved Elizabeth.  Patrick rose to success within the insurance industry, spending the majority of his career with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. An avid golfer, Patrick spent a lot of his spare time playing the game he loved. Patrick frequently returned home to Fethard, Ireland (Co. Tipperary), where he was a former all-Ireland football player and hurler. He also gave back to his Irish community during those visits, most notably by helping to build an Irish football field. While Patrick collected a lifetime of achievements, he was most proud of the family he built and friendships he made.

Visitation will be at St. Petronille Church (420 Glenwood Ave. Glen Ellyn) from 9 AM – time of Mass at 10 AM.  Interment private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, http://www.stjude.org/donate.
