Norma A. Petersen

Norma A. Petersen, age 95 (about three weeks shy of 96) of Wheaton and formerly of Glen Ellyn. Norma is the beloved wife of the late Clifton. Caring mother of JoAnn (Paul) Grewe & Rita (Keith) Matthews. Proud grandmother of Laura (Brad) Swift, Seth Matthews, Kelly Johnson & Layne (Clay) Finn. Great- Grandmother of Beckham, Landon, Savannah & Sydney Swift, Mckenna Johnson and Miley Finn, Haylee Doncoes, Lyla Finn, Brooklyn Finn & Maybelle Finn and a special aunt of many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings & their spouses Gay (June) Christian, Arnie (Ginny) Christian, Wally (Ruth) Christian, Mutz (Phyllis) Christian, Ruth (Morrie) Hintt, Alfie (Dorothy) Christian;  Paul A. Christian; niece Mary Geil and nephew John Christian.

Norma, a woman of strong faith, was an accomplished hairdresser in Elgin & Glen Ellyn for many years. She loved to bake & was particularly known for her Christmas and Easter cookies & her “sea foam salad”. She enjoyed cross-stitch, needlepoint, knitting, sewing, watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune, and greatly loved tending her plants.

A visitation for Norma will be held on Tuesday, August 8th from 9:30 AM –the time of service at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church of Glen Ellyn, 493 Forest Ave. She will be laid to rest after the service in Bluff City Cemetery in Elgin, IL.
