Mary Hirsch Obituary

Mary Hirsch, 79, of Glen Ellyn. Wife of Steven Hirsch. Devoted mother of Edward and Morgan Hirsch. Daughter of the late James and Esther McMenamin. Sister of the late Jim and Edward McMenamin and survived by Tom and Mark McMenamin. Fond aunt of Jon Hirsch, Adam (Faye) Hirsch, Missy (George) Perlic, Jay (Donna) McMenamin, Amanda (Fred) Stinchcombe, Jennifer (Ray) Wileman, Megan McMenamin, Lindsay McMenamin, Sean McMenamin, Neil (Marie) McMenamin, Andrea (Rob) Arndt, and adored by many Grand-neices and Grand-nephews.

Mary was born in Chicago, IL and lived in Illinois and Missouri. Mary graduated from Saint Mary’s High School of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. Her professional life was spent as a teacher at Chicago Public Schools at Senn and Amundsen High Schools until health issues led to her retirement. Mary was a life-long educator.

She had a love of art and was an expert at sewing and embroidery. Later years were spent documenting her family history and genealogy of the McMenamins, Hirschs, and other relatives of the extended family she was not able meet. She also loved puzzles and movies.
