Martin Sirvatka Obituary

Dearly loved Martin F. Sirvatka of Glen Ellyn, IL went home to Jesus February 6, 2026. He was born in Chicago on July 10, 1929 to his parents, Marie (Schreiner) and William F. Sirvatka. Though we will miss him, we are grateful for 96 years of joy he gave to all who knew him.

Marty lived a life marked by faith, humility, and deep devotion to his family. He had a gentle spirit, a steady presence, and a contagious sense of humor that put others at ease. He believed in kindness, spreading joy, and treating people with dignity. He made others feel seen and valued. He created a safe space for everyone with his warm and engaging smile.

In 1952 Marty married Elma Mae Mauney, the love of his life, and together they made family and home their greatest treasure. He continually offered unwavering love and a listening ear, creating a legacy of warmth and strength. Time spent together—at the table, in conversation, or simply sitting side by side—meant everything to him.

Although he worked as an accountant, his calling and passion was making music. His piano playing was inspiring, and he shared that gift with anyone lucky enough to hear him for almost eight decades.

While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is home with his savior, reunited with family and friends who went before him. Marty is survived by his wife, Elma Mae, and his children, Martin G. Sirvatka, Paul L. (Laura Kamptner) Sirvatka, Jason M. (Kim) Sirvatka, and Amanda K. Sirvatka. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonah D., Molly G., and Claire E. Sirvatka.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, William E. and Mary F. Sirvatka. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
