Marjorie Cilley, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, 95, of Manteno and previously of Glen Ellyn, IL, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. Her unwavering faith, selflessness, and dedication to her community have left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Throughout her life, Marjorie generously gave her time and energy to numerous organizations and causes. She was an active participant of PEO – a women’s philanthropic education organization, Ugly Quilts in Mesa, AZ, Manteno United Methodist Church, Scottsdale Christian Church, God’s Grace Church in Arizona, and Phoenix Dream Center. Formerly she was a kindergarten teacher in Glen Ellyn, active with First United Methodist Church, Glen Ellyn, the United Methodist Campground in Des Plaines, IL, and Treasure House resale shop.
During the recent pandemic, Marjorie's compassionate spirit shone brightly as she sewed over 6,000 face masks and freely gave to people around the world. In addition to her dedication to service, Marjorie had a deep passion for crafts that brought warmth and joy to others. She had a remarkable talent for sewing as well as knitting and made hats and scarves for the homeless and those in need. Marjorie’s legacy will continue to inspire us all to embrace our passions, share our talents, and make the world a more beautiful and caring place.
