Marilyn Joyce Whyte, born April 19, 1938, daughter of the late John Miller and Margaret “Peggy” (Walthoff) Miller, wife of 62 years to late husband John “Jack” Whyte, sister to the late Cheryl (Miller) Easter, passed away peacefully the afternoon of March 10th with family by her side. She leaves behind sons Jeff (Christy), Todd (Heather), Mike (Julie) and grandkids Jack, Thomas, Hailey and Katelyn.
A graduate of Proviso East HS and Western Illinois University, she earned a degree in Education and enjoyed substitute teaching in addition to raising her beloved sons. She had a true love of taking photos and videos of her family and friends and was always there to document life’s moments. An animal lover, she cherished her many pets throughout the years and was an annual volunteer at the Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska. A lover of travel, one of her favorite trips was to Africa for a safari and to interact with highland gorillas.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 22nd at Leonard’s Funeral Home 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Family and friends are invited to attend a 5:00 PM service followed by visiting hours from 5:30-8:00 PM.
