97 great years! 70 of those wonderfully married to Joan Lowe Jackson, who preceded him into eternity two years ago.

Amassed a multitude of devoted friends, most now gone
Realized a moderate number of achievements, soon to be forgotten (Life Master in duplicate bridge, collegiate runner-up state champion in tennis, a governor’s award for copious recordings of books for the blind)
Funded over three decades of amazing family trips (Cancun, Bahamas, Hawaii, Alaska and about 20 other spots), leaving kids and grandkids with memories of a lifetime
Passed on integrity and character now operating in his three children (Mary Jackson Brooks, James Earl Jackson, and Anne Jackson Kelly), 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lived a life that left the world around him a bit better
