John Valentine Baliga

John Valentine Baliga, loving father of Cassandra Marie, dear grandfather of Finn Wilder Guthrie, devoted son of Theodore and Evelyn Baliga, fond brother of Ronald Baliga and Joan Zajac (Ted), Uncle of Nicole, Marissa and Anthony Zajac. 

John graduated from Purdue University with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (1990), University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (1985) and Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics (1985). 

John worked as an Electrical Engineer for ITT in Fort Wayne, IN and Teledyne Brown in Huntsville, Alabama, then worked as a technical writer, associate editor of a technical magazine (Semiconductor International), worked at a start-up tech company for a short time, then became an college professor for several colleges throughout Chicagoland and Suburbs for the remainder of his career/life.

He was a member of IEEE and became educated on and was passionate about Nanotechnology. He was a huge Cubs fan and collected as much Cubs memorabilia as he could when the Cubs won the world series.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd from 4-8 PM with a service at 7:30 at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. 

In lieu of flowers, donations on John's behalf can be sent to the American Diabetes Association and/or American Cancer Society.
