Jean Leyman

JEAN LEYMAN born October 31, 1924, died on March 23, 2022
Jean Leyman, née Murphy, age 97, of Wheaton, Illinois. She was the beloved wife of the late James Leyman.
Jean began her fascinating life in Elmira, NY. And while she spent most of her adult life living and working (Wheaton Public Library), in Wheaton, Jean managed to drive most years to Elmira, by herself, up to age 90. Jean was proud of her Irish heritage and her Catholic faith. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and Serra Club and became a volunteer fixture at St. Petronille Church for many of her late years Thanks to the caring staff at DuPage Care Center who lovingly cared for her as Jean had no family in the area. And to her friends, the Melka’s and the Kilker’s who loved her like family and will miss her.
 

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at 9:30 AM at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave. Glen Ellyn. She will be buried in Horseheads, NY.
