James Michael Rito (aka Jimmy), age 45, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 6, 2021 with his wife Stacy holding his hand. He was born in Winfield, IL on May 4, 1976 to John Fota and the late Vicki Rito. Jimmy leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Stacy (Robey) and their beautiful 13-year-old daughter, the “B to his P”, Isabella Rae. Also, his father John Fota and sisters Jen Seuss and Christi Rito. As well as “Mom “Janet Staska, Richard Robey, his siblings Kelly Regan and DJ Staska. Also, his nieces and nephews Andrew, Amy, Jack, Lily, Winnie, Chloe, and Fidget. In addition to his immediate family, Jimmy leaves behind an incredible extended family and many, many friends.
Jim loved teaching his daughter to make the Rito family pasta sauce, playing volleyball with her, and taking her every year to sell girl scout cookies. He was a diehard Chicago Bulls and White Sox fan. So much so that the night before his passing, he helped his White Sox and #24 (his lucky number), Yasmani Grandal, hit two home runs to win the game. When he wasn’t watching the Bulls or White Sox he was showing his love of football as he watched his San Francisco 49ers. He rocked out to classic rock specifically his Led Zepplin; often and for hours. He almost always wore A.D.I.D.A.S anything, especially the knit skull cap Stacy hated! He loved his 79 Camaro and all classic cars but not nearly as much as he admired his wife’s booty. He was a well-loved, hardworking man whose laughter was wholehearted and infectious to anyone around him. He will be missed “To Infinity and Beyond.”
A wake to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 4-7pm at Leonard’s Memorial and Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
