Jack Charles Bixler, aged 83, passed away peacefully on September 28th at Wynscape Nursing Home in Wheaton, IL from complications due to Parkinson’s disease.
Jack was born January 19,1941 in Hamilton, New York, the third of six children (Dennis, Jane, Bill, Susan and Paul) to Mary and Paul Bixler.
Jack married his high school sweetheart Marilyn (Dindia) on August 3, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage together. They raised 4 sons Michael (Dawn), Timothy, and twins Christopher (Lexi) and Kevin in Glen Ellyn, IL. They have been blessed with 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Jack graduated from Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland, OH and attended Miami of Ohio University where he was a proud member of the Army ROTC. After getting his stock brokers license in 1965, Jack spent his entire career in the investment business, living in Chicago and Chagrin Falls, Ohio, finishing his career in Greenville, South Carolina. Jack and Marilyn relocated to the Chicago area after retirement to be closer to family.
Jack was known for his positive attitude, strong work ethic, humility, commitment to his family and his dry sense of humor. He enjoyed a round of golf with friends, a cold beer and a tall pour of Johnnie Walker Blue. After learning of his declining health many friends reached out with stories of Jack’s generosity, kindness and humor.
His family is forever grateful for the kind and compassionate care he received from the entire staff at Wynscape nursing home. The family will gather for a private celebration of Jack’s life in the coming months.
