Irma McGuiness

Irma McGuiness (née Schauer) passed away on June 21, 2025, in Naperville, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Kristina (Pirc) Schauer. Irma was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Markovic; her second husband, Thomas V. McGuiness; and her daughter, Judith Markovic-Lopez.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Markovic-Richards; her son, John (Joan) Markovic; and her stepdaughter, Maureen McGuiness-Nelson. Irma was a beloved grandmother to nine grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her compassion and kindness by her many friends and extended family in the Chicago area and her birthplace of Slovenia.

A longtime employee of Forest Park National Bank, Irma had a deep appreciation for nature and a love of travel.

A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernardine Church, 801 S. Elgin Avenue, Forest Park, IL 60130. A memorial luncheon will follow at the Alpine Banquet House, 11141 Roosevelt Road, Westchester, IL 60154.
