Gordon Grune Obituary

Gordon Gustav Grune, 80, of Carol Stream IL, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2022.
He was the son of Gustav and Ethel Grune, and brother to Carolyn. Gordon was married to Antonia (Toni) for 51 years. He worked several decades for the Milwaukee Soo Railroad as a Switchman in Illinois until he retired. After retirement, he still carried a passion for trains and would visit railroad museums with his family. Gordon and Toni also traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Germany and Japan when they had the opportunity.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Gustav and Ethel, and wife Antonia. He is survived by his sister Carolyn, his daughter Kathryn Burgemeister (David) of Arizona, his son Christopher (Jane) of Illinois, and his daughter Jennifer of Illinois, and Christopher's son Conan, and Christopher's daughter Gretchen.
He will be buried at Forest Hill Cemetery. Interment ceremony will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Seasons Hospice or Meals on Wheels in his name.
