George Zahrobsky

George S Zahrobsky, 88.  Retired Science Teacher and Science Department Chair at Glenbard West High School for 35 years. Was actively involved in professional organizations NABT, NSTA, and ISTA in many different capacities throughout his career, including being the President of the National Association of Biology Teachers in 1986 and a Board Member for the Friends of Fermilab. Recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1984. Author of Biology A Systems Approach lab manual for Addison-Wesley Publishing Company. Committed to environmental issues at the local level which includes helping start the Glen Ellyn Recycling and Mosquito Abatement Programs.

He is the beloved husband of Adrienne and is survived by 3 children: Peter (Amy), Christopher (Victoria), and Susan Zahrobsky, and 2 grandchildren Eleanor and Margaret.

Visitation is Friday, October 1st from 4 to 8 pm at Leonard Memorial Home 565 Duane Street in Glen Ellyn.  Memorial service is 11AM Saturday, October 2nd. Private internment at Bohemian National Cemetery at a later date.
