Vernon, IA, Yankton College in Yankton, SD and Industrial College of Engineering in Chicago. He became a business-owner and was the President of Nauert Corporation. Outside of his career, he was a member of the Glen Ellyn Jaycees, a 32nd Degree Mason and was a scuba instructor at BR Ryall YMCA. He was a dedicated Honor Flight Chicago participant and supporter.
Affectionately known as a “man of many hobbies,” he enjoyed wood working, became accomplished at clock-making, storytelling, voracious reading, boating and fishing, the love of which he passed on to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Above all, he cherished spending time with his family in a variety of settings. He had great love and enjoyment of the outdoors during all seasons and he loved dogs especially golden retrievers, many of which became part of his story-telling. He partnered with his therapy dogs and serviced local assisted living facilities calling on hospice patients for many years.
His family is thankful for the loving care and compassion shown to Fred and his family by Angel's Grace Hospice and BrightStar Caregivers.
