Visitation is Thursday, June 18th from 4-8 PM at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duaen St. Glen Ellyn, IL. 60137. Interment service, Friday, 11:30 AM at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn, IL (At the Corner of Riford Rd. & St. Charles Rd. in Glen Ellyn, IL). Due to current covid-19 restrictions, we will be allowing 10 people to visit with the family at a time on Thursday. If you wish to attend the burial service on Friday, you are welcome to meet us at the cemetery or gather in your cars at the funeral home at 11 AM on Friday to process over to the cemetery.
He resided for 48 years in the Philippines, 1 year in Glendale Heights and 32 years in Chicago
Ernesto was born in the Philippines to the late Clemente Ramos Sr and Marietta Acuna (n is nye) September of 1938. He graduated from the Far Eastern University of Manila, in 1959 with a BA in Business Administration. Prior to migrating to America, he worked in banks, and was a district manager for Manila Banker’s Life Insurance. A devout christian he loved tagging along every time his wife Dellie lead bible studies back home.
He raised his family loving music and loving God and were members of Diliman Bible Church In 1987, he along with his family migrated to Chicago and was a salesman for New York Life until he retired in 2002.
He was an an avid golfer and he joined a group called Chicago Niners in 1998. He was a true believer of his faith in God, and became an active church member of Faith Community Presbyterian Church.
A passionate singer he also joined the choir, and anyone that hears his voice will be reminded of Perry Como, which was his idol. In 2008, his wife of 33 years Dellie, passed. This was a huge loss and he grieved for awhile, however his zest for life and the love he has for his family inspired him to live a full life. He died of heart complications, Saturday June 13th and he was 81. He left behind three children, eight grandchildren, three siblings and a lot of nephews and nieces.
