Edward “Ed” J. Coman, MBA, CPA, 83, of Glen Ellyn. Beloved husband of Maxine of 60+ years. Dear & kind father of Martin (Annie) Coman, Daniel (Ellen) Coman, Timothy Coman, and Amy (Tim) Brosnan. Devoted grandfather of Heather (Michael) Coman-Tilken, Chad Coman, Benjamin Coman, Corey (Vidi) Coman, Joseph DiBenedetto and Lena DiBenedetto, Annemarie Coman, Peter Coman, Jennifer Coman, Linda Coman, Ian Coman and James, Michael, & Sean Brosnan.
Loving great-grandfather of Arya Coman; Charlotte and Luke Coman-Tilken; and Ashton Coman. Dear son of the late Edward J. Coman Sr. and the late Agnes Coman. Dearest brother of Kathleen (late Joseph). Uncle of Mary Pat, Maureen, Eileen, Kathy, Sharon, Sheila, Joanne and (late Joseph).
Ed was a college professor early in his career at several educational institutions including University of Illinois at Chicago and Elmhurst College. Ed later founded and ran his own CPA Firm for many years in Lombard and Glen Ellyn. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a Scout Master, Rotarian, and active in a Catholic Cursillo group. He was a founder of the St. Joseph the Worker Ministry locally and served in various roles including acting as President within both the Lombard and Glen Ellyn Rotary Clubs. At St. James Church, he sung in the choir and started a parish wide Bible study. He was also a member of the Illinois CPA Society. Ed was repeatedly honored for his many charitable and professional endeavors. Ed was an avid reader and book collector. Ed and his wife Maxine also traveled extensively including trips to the Holy Land, Japan, and Europe. Ed was proud of his Irish heritage.

Visitation on Friday, July 21 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL. Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 22 at 10 am at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 480 S Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven, Hillside, IL on a later date.
