Edward C. Sigler, 93, of Sarasota, FL a Glen Ellyn resident for many years, passed away peacefully with his son Paul by his side on June 12, 2024
Born in Henderson, Kentucky on November 28, 1930. Edward was the son of the late Elbert L. and Mildred V. Sigler.
Edward was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He valued education and earned a Bachelor’s degree, from Louisiana State University. He went on to higher education to earn his Master’s degree and Law degree.
He worked at Brunswick Corporation as the Director of Risk Management for many years in his career. He was a dedicated corporate lawyer.
With a loving, generous, and caring spirit he was always willing to help others without hesitation. His sacrifice and dedication to his family was an inspiration. He was a devoted and loving father with a fun sense of humour.
He always cherished in his heart his hometown, the childhood friendships he made and the lifelong lessons he gained from the family farm.
He enjoyed reading, history, travel, music, dancing, sports, golfing and everything about cars, oh and ice cream. His love and deep connection to animals was extraordinary, with a special fondness for dogs.
Loving husband of 70 yrs to the late Vilma Sigler; sons Edward (Ned), Paul (Jon), Stephen (Olivier), Michael (Dawn) and daughters Carolyn and Natalie, grandchildren Ashley, Jason, Rudy, Eddie, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Kristin, Amy and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation at 4 pm - 7 pm on Friday, June 21st, 2024 at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Funeral Service at 10 AM on Saturday, June 22nd at Leonard Memorial Home. Interment to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
