Edward Beutler

Edward ‘Ed’ Beutler passed away August 14, 2020 at the age of 73.  Beloved husband of Mindy Beutler; Loving father of Eddie and Mandy Beutler; Beloved grandpa to Natalie, Eleanor and Lennox.

Ed was a long-time resident of Wheaton. Ed was born to the late Erwin & Florence Beutler on December 31st, 1946 in Maywood Illinois.Ed was the youngest of three and would often reminisce about living in the city as a youngster.  During Ed’s adolescent years you would often find him driving his 1956 Ford Crown Victoria. 

Ed served our country in Vietnam where he specialized as a sharpshooter and skilled mechanic.  Ed spent the remainder of his working days as a mailman for the Glen Ellyn post office.  While he didn’t love the job, he did love the relationships he developed over those 30+ years. 

He was a devoted husband and a wonderful father. Ed loved his grandchildren immensely and they gave him great joy.He would often be found in the kitchen sneaking open a fresh bag of Cheetos quietly with the grandchildren.

The ‘Dinosaur’ as he often referred to himself as will be best remembered for enjoying the simple things in life.  Whether that was Sunday fishing with his kids, tending to his garden, or interrupting Mindy’s favorite TV show by his humorous commentary.He was always ready to sit down and have a beer, or two with you, and ask how your day was going.

We are grateful for all the memories we shared with one another. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Visitation Sunday, September 20th 12:00 PM– 2:00 PM (Visitation) 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Memorial) at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn.
