Dorothy Jean (Evans) Eddy

Dorothy Jean Eddy nee: Evans, 97, of Lombard, Illinois. Beloved Wife of the late Donald A. Eddy. Loving Mother of daughter, Linda (James) Burger and son, Bob (Christie) Eddy. Loved Grandmother of: Melissa (Tim) Binetti; Rebecca Burger; and Michelle (Stu) Modrzejewski; Lauren (Ryan) Forringer and Morgan Eddy. Loved Great-Grandmother of Jackson Binetti; Elliot Binetti; Abigail Modrzejewski; Willow Forringer; and James Modrzejewski. Beloved Daughter of the late Cleo and Minnie Evans. Caring Sister of the late Aileen Patten and the late Ralph Evans. Loved Aunt of many nieces & nephews.

Following graduation from West Chicago High School, Dorothy worked for a short time at the Northwestern Railroad Company before marrying Donald in 1947. After her children were older, Dorothy also worked for approximately 25 years in the Classified Advertising Department of Press Publications and the DuPage Press newspaper.

Dorothy loved baseball, hiking, bike riding, and riding double with Donald on his Harley, Honda, and BMW motorcycles. Together, they traveled to several states throughout the country on motorcycles, attended numerous motorcycle rallies, and even camped with the BMW Motorcycle Club of America at Loretta Lynn’s ranch in Tennessee.

Dorothy was artistic. She could always be found working on a new project, which often included knitting scarves and sweaters, cross-stitching Christmas stockings for each family member, decoupaging and antiquing furniture, and making stuffed bears for young hospital patients.

Visitation Thursday, April 24th from 9:30 AM- 10 AM with a service to follow at Leonard Funeral Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Interment to follow service at Wheaton Cemetery. For more information please call (630) 469-0032.
