Donald Gerber Obituary

Don passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning October 18th at the age of 95. Devoted husband of the late Lynn Hunt Gerber; beloved father of Kim Gerber, Karen Gerber Spangler, and Donna Gerber Schwald; adored son of Julia and Ray Gerber; fond brother of Gerald Gerber.

Don served in the National Guard from 1947-1953. After, Don started his career at Glen Oak Country Club in Glen Ellyn, IL 1944-1955. Don then went on to become Golf Course Superintendent of Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois from 1955-1989. Don met and married his wife Lynn H. Gerber in 1953 until her passing in 2010.

Don had a passion for animals and enjoyed taking care of his 4 acre property.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation would be appreciated to DCAS (DuPage County Animal Services), 120 N County Farm Rd. Wheaton, IL 60187.

Services will be private.
