Darlene Guerin

Darlene Guerin age 81 of Wheaton. Beloved wife of the late Patrick; Loving mother of Sabrina Leonard (Kieran McAlinney), Michael (Pamela) Guerin & Denise (Jozef) Kavuliak. Dear grandmother of Stephen Guerin, Kristian Capps and Emma, Jason & Sophia Kavuliak: Devoted great-grandmother of Parker & Kennedy Capps; Devoted daughter of the late Charles & Mary Willi; Fond sister of Barbara (Peter) Sullivan and Aunt of many nieces & nephews.

Darlene was born in Chicago and entered kindergarten in 1945 at St. Vincent De Paul School in Lincoln Park.  She graduated with a degree in teaching from Illinois State in Normal, Illinois in 1962 and married Patrick Guerin that same year.  They were married until his passing in 2000.  Darlene went on to earn a master’s degree and was a well loved math & computer science teacher for over 35 years. Darlene started one of the first AP computer science classes in Illinois.

Visitation for Darlene will be on Thursday, May 6th from 5-8 PM at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn (www.leonardmemorialhome.com or 630-469-0032 for info). Funeral Mass, Friday 10:30 AM at St. Irene’s Catholic Church,  28w441 Warrenville Rd, Warrenville, IL 60555. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
