Danielle Bailey Frick
November 27, 1998 - July 9, 2026 (age 27)
With deep love and heavy hearts, we share the passing of Danielle Bailey Frick, who left us peacefully after a long, courageous battle with a devastating connective tissue disorder (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome or EDS).
Born to Dan and Joleen (Frost) Frick, Danielle, along with her brother, Ben, was raised in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and attended St. Petronille Catholic School and Glenbard West High School. Danielle was an avid musician and gifted pianist. Nothing brought Danielle more joy than expressing herself through her music and creative sense of style, though at the center of Danielle’s world was her loving family - Dan, Joleen, Ben, and Milo (her pup) - who stood by her side with endless love and support as she faced her illness with remarkable strength and perseverance.
The essence of Danielle was her deep empathy for those who suffer. Despite her many challenges, Danielle had an uncanny ability to touch the lives of so many people who, like her, suffered every day. She brought hope, love, and laughter to so many in despair; she could brighten any room by pulling out her singular sense of humor and style in the least suspecting moments. One of the many people she touched described her actions as follows: “the joy she gave even while suffering is the definition of a hero.”
We will remember Danielle for her devotion to the chronically ill, passion for music, fierce love, and grace that could make even the quietest of souls feel seen. Her legacy of compassion, strength, empathy, and advocacy for the suffering will live on in all of us.
Danielle was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Cletus “Bud” and Dolores (Schares) Frost, step-grandmother Irma Frost, and Robert and Marilyn (Krcmar) Frick; her aunts and uncles, Lester and Phyllis (Frost) Schares, Dean and Debbie (Hughes) Frost, Robert Frost, and Silvio de Benedetto, as well as cousins Lori Schares and Michael Frost.
She is survived by her parents, Dan and Joleen Frick, brother Ben, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. It is the family’s long-held hope to open a foundation in Danielle’s name for the benefit of the chronically ill. As the family navigates setting up the foundation, in lieu of flowers, please direct all donations to the Ehlers Danlos Society in memory of Danielle Bailey Frick. https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/donate/
