Christa K. Ashley

Christa K. Ashley, of Glen Ellyn for over fifty years, born on April 28, 1933 in Lauterbach, Germany and passed away on November 11, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Jesse Ashley. Devoted mother of Christina (Joseph) Ashley-Riccelli. Loving grandmother of Maximilian & Chase Riccelli. Dearest daughter of the late Sophia Duchardt-Kiepe & Carl Kiepe. Dearest sister of the late George Kiepe & the late Herman Kiepe. Fond aunt of nieces Ursula Kiepe, Barbara Kiepe and nephew Joerg Kiepe from Lauterbach, Germany.

She graduated from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and married Jesse Ashley in Lauterbach, Germany, from there, moved to England, then New Jersey, where their only daughter was born. Finally moving to Glen Ellyn, Illinois she made Glen Ellyn home.

After devoting her time at home to raising her daughter, she also went on to get her Masters degree in Library Sciences from the University of Toronto which enabled her to work at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois for over 30 years. 

She was a long-term member of Faith Lutheran Church. She loved her grandkids, cooking, gardening and her German heritage.

Funeral service on Thursday, November 14, 2024, 1 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 41 N. Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL. Burial to follow funeral service.
