Beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, Celestin Nshimiyimana, 67, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, passed away on January 17, 2026, after nearly five months living with stage IV pancreatic cancer, endured with unimaginable strength and courage. He now rests in the divine mercy and power of God.
His family and community is deeply grateful for the lifetime they were gifted with him: for the profound love he showed, the perseverance he embodied, and the many ways he taught his loved ones to remain rooted in integrity, courage, and an unwavering belief in their ability to become who they are truly capable of being in this world. Celestin’s tenacity was awe-inspiring. We carry him with us always, in the extraordinary ways we will continue to honor this gift of life. Please hold him in your prayers.
Celestin is survived by his wife and children, who continue to carry his love and legacy forward.
Visitation 10 - 11 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at St. Petronille Catholic Church, 420 Glenwood Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL. Funeral Mass at 11 AM to follow. Interment at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield, IL after mass.
