Carol Dawrant, 83 of Carol Stream, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.
Born on May 13, 1942, to parents Jim and Doris Konkle, the family soon moved from East Orange, New Jersey to Glen Ellyn, where she grew up with her sister Gail and her brother Pete. Carol was a graduate of Glenbard West, and she later went on to work at Glenbard for 35 years.
In 1962 she married her high school sweetheart Fred Dawrant, where they lived and raised a family in Glen Ellyn until Fred’s death in 2005.
After retirement, Carol traveled the world following two of her favorite music groups, whom she lovingly referred to as “The Boys”.
Whether it was a family trip to Disneyworld, being the number one fan for the kids at their High School and College sporting events, helping prepare the Thanksgiving meal and pumpkin pie (with no measuring) or playing rummy royal over the holidays, she was always an important part of our lives.
Carol is survived by her two sons Rick Dawrant and Andrew Dawrant; daughters-in-law Janet Dawrant and Erin Dawrant: Grandchildren Kevin, Brad, Megan, Sophie, Sydney, Sam and Natalie; and Greatgrandaughter Janie. Above all things, she was most proud of her family that brought her so much joy.
Visitation, Wednesday, April 15th at St Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave, Glen Ellyn from 10 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11AM. Follow by a luncheon at Made in Italy, 476 Forest Ave, Glen Ellyn, at 12 PM. She will be laid to rest privately at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn.
