Bonnie Sue (Mc Holme) Humeston (75 years old) of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away peacefully from complications of a stroke surrounded by her family, on Monday, July 22nd, 2024, at Central DuPage Hospital.
Bonnie was born on November 13th,1948 in McKeesport, PA to Duncan Caird Mc Holme and Suzanne Mae Hart. She grew up in Battle Creek, MI along with her younger brother Robert Mc Holme, graduating from Battle Creek Central High School. She was married to Phillip Humeston on October 3rd,1970 with whom she shared almost 54 happy years, laughing and raising their children- Carrie, Scott and Michael. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University, and worked as an OT at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, IL for over 20 years. She also served her community as both a member and past President of the Glen Ellyn PEO Chapter, and as a member of Glen Ellyn Juniors. Bonnie most enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was also a wonderful cook and had a knack for making every meal special. She loved reading, rarely without a book or two nearby, and enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife from her backyard with her husband and family, whom she loved dearly.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Phillip Humeston, her children- Carrie Storm of Oak Creek, WI, Scott Humeston of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Michael (Tracy) Humeston of Lombard, IL; Grandchildren- Aidan, Connor and Marin Storm of Oak Creek, WI and Duncan Humeston of Lombard, IL; Nieces and Nephews- Lindsay Mc Holme, Becky (Jeff) Smith, Eric Humeston, Amy (Carl) Kleinfelt, Karen (Jim) Winchell, Lisa (Tom) Posell and David Humeston as well as, her in-laws, and many dear friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Duncan Caird Mc Holme and Suzanne Mae Hart, and her brother Robert (Bob) Mc Holme.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, July 29th at 4pm-8pm at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL.
A celebration of life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 30th at 10:00am at First Presbyterian Church (in the Chapel Building), 550 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL.
