Robert W. Chambers

Robert “Bob” W. Chambers age 93 of Glen Ellyn. The beloved husband of the late Dolores “Dee”; loving father of Nancy (Robert) Schefer & Rob Chambers; dear grandfather of Matthew Schefer & Amy (Mike) Nickels; dearest son of the late Orrin H. Chambers Sr. & the late Margaret K. nee:  Latzel; fond brother of Joy (Dennis) Murphy & the late Orrin H. Chambers Jr. and uncle of many nieces & nephews. Bob was a proud navy veteran serving in the south pacific from 1943-1946, achieving a rank of Radioman 1st class. He was a 39 year IBEW electrician for local union 701.  He was very involved with the village of Glen Ellyn Historical Society; President of Forest Hill Cemetery and co-author of “Glen Ellyn, A Village Remembered”. He loved golf, gardening & big band music. Visitation will be Sunday, February 18th from 4-8 PM at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn (leoanrdmemorialhome.com or 630-469-0032).
